Avensis Rear Brakes

Can any tell me which way round the rear pads fit on an Avensis 2.0d4d 2002 please, as some one seems to have fitted the same pad to both sides of the disc. The new pads i have have a large spring on the back edge of both pads but one pad has 2 lugs and the other has 4. They seem to fit either way round i.e on the inside or outside of the disc.

Any help much appreciated.
