T Sport Club/ Racing Days

hey all,

just wanna ask if there are any t-sport days or clubs where u can go on track days and test ur t sport out. wouldnt mind meeting other t-sport owners and see what they have done to their cars to make them even better. i wanna tint my rear three windows out completely black and add some baaadass TV/sat nav system on the empty container above the stereo.

erm -- if no such thing as t sport owners club could anyone recommend a good track day to go on and rough estimate on prices???? how much would insurance charge for track days??? just saw top gear and reckon my t-sport would be real good for a track day (bar the cost of a new set of P Zeros :arrgg-matey: ). 120 for 1 days worth track racing seems awful lot....

by the way, look on the toyota website and look under merchandise. my toyota didnt come with any extras bar mats and flowers, the cheeky git gave me a crappy plastic keyfob!!! but saw this mint T Sport keyring on the website. MIGHT GET IT - do u guys think its any good??? saw this guy in the car dealer with a wicked glowing red T sport keyring...cant find it anywhere.

by the way my car is still wearing its £1100 worth of damage :(

I don't think there are any specific T-Sport Clubs but we havea fair few on here and quite a few modded as well...

As for track days, £120 is very cheap, they're nortmally £150+ for a full open-pit track day although there are certain events such as the CCC Day on Saturday where you can buy 5 lap passes for £20 and is a good place to start as Combe (with the exception of Quarry) is very forgiving and a great track. Dan (Yaris T Spot) took his Yaris out on Saturday so try ask him about it....

Keep an eyte on the meets section for future track days as they will posted when we find out about them...

Hope this helps

Yep track days rule.... castle combe is also a favouite of mine, the insurance is a good idea but not complusary, shop around tho, prices vary, and no you cant claim from your standard policy, and no you can push the car down the road and into a hedge, its all been done and you can be sure some one will have pictures of your pride and joy in the tyre wall, then you could be in deep do do with your insurance company. :help:

most trackday companies offer insurance and some companies such as aon or dorset offer free track insurance as part of your annual package, all you need to do is phone them up tell them when yourt on track....

yeah cheers for replies ----

by the way man i didnt mean 120 for the track day itself.....i heard that INSURANCE alone for 1 day was 120!!!!!!!!!! i donno bout track days -- guess Ryan is right bout £20 pass for 5 laps - BUT THOSE LAPS MUST GO QUICK!!!!!

i'm sick of insurance companies by the way - read that pinned t sport insurance thing and with 3 yrs no claims STILL paying AWFUL LOT of money for insurance - 1600. having had accident recently made me realise what nobs these insurance companies are - i cant claim and lose my no claims - so no point repairing car! Wasting more money for insurance for track days seems a damn waste - but knowing my luck i'd probs get hit on the back while driving out of the pits for my first lap.

err back to t sport accessories. wanna get muffler for car now - and get one of those exhaust pipes that imitate a turbo whistle...wouldnt that be wicked pulling up next to one of these imprezas and evos??? got bout 50p to spend on it tho.....

yaris t spot ur yaris is AMAZIN MAN - does it look as good on inside as it does on outside....please tell me u got some bucket leather recaros and suede dashboard with intercooler water spray switch.....

The rules at track days are pretty strick to prevent that sort of thing so you should be asfe out on track as long as you obey the rules.

The most importnat thing to remember on track (easier said than done) is to drive within your limits and not let peer pressure get to you, if your the slowest thing on track so be it, the most important thing is you come of the track in one piece and you've had a great experience.

As you do more laps you'll get quicker and quicker on the circuit and no what your car will do on the track and when, it's just a matter of experience...

I'm still very inexperienced on track having done only 36 laps around combe but am feeling more confident around that track and thoroughyl enjoying myslef each time...

Think I can say the passengers I've had in the dry (scot and fidgets) have nejoyed themselves too...

Its definately worth a go...

And as a not currently with my insurance i have no trackday cover, it's an extra incentive to be careful :)

I suppose the way to go is to buy some old ****ter for £100 - an old banger that you can take there, drive it into the ground and scrap when it dies or you stack it into the tirewall.

As on another thread - you don't need big power to have a good ol' slide.

I guess everyone saw the TopGear feature on trackdays which had this guy with a knakered Prelude.

For that money, who cares if you crash it you're not insured! I'd be screwed if I stacked my Y.TS as it's my only car and I'd be pretty heartbroken too.
