Hi everyone, i became the proud owner of a new 1.3vvti Colour Collection Yaris last thursday. I opted for air con which also got me a great looking roof spoiler. So far im really chuffed with the car but as its still running in, i havent really tested yet.

i was wondering about installing the sat nav add on but i am unsure as to whether any wiring is already in place in the car for the system or if i need to make sure i get a system with a wiring loom.

Would you recomend the tns200 or tns300? Where can i can one cheaply?Anyone selling?

Nice to meet you all

David

Hi David, welcome to TOC! Excellent choice of car!

If you buy the Toyota Sat Nav, Toyota will fit it for you - all the stuff to run its already in the car, I think they just install the little box under your seat with the CD.

Not 100% on that though - my Yaris doesnt have Sat Nav, my other halfs Corolla does, but its a different system to the Yaris Sat Nav....

Welcome anyhoo! :group-cuddles:

look at all ur options first in my opinion, the toyota sat nav in my opinions is over priced for what it is, you can pick ur self up a tomtom or a garmin for around the 300 mark, and a lot of people i know rate these a light higher than the toyota sat nav..

Lots of posts on here about the Toyota sat nav. I seen the Toyota sat nav in action (not in a Yaris) and was very impressed, accurate and fast.

What I know so far from here is that the new version is the TNS300 which is DVD based, the old one is CD based and is the TNS200

The system is the same in all Toyotas.

The only difference is how it is displayed in the vehicle. Some cars have a full colour screen like the Avensis and some have a small black and white screen like the Yaris and Rav4, but underneath it’s the same.

Or you could go aftermarket as mentioned, have a search and get other opinions but from what I can gather on here, you pay your money and take your choice.

If you want the toyota system then get the 300 model with (i think its called) RTA, road traffic aviodence. Got that in the my TS and its a great improvement to the system on my older yaris.
