Camry Transmission

the reverisng lights on my 1994 Camry V6 estate only stay on as long as I push the stick towards the stop while it is in reverse - the reverse gear is still engaged and works okay. If I just leave it (it is obviously "loose" somewhere) the lights don't come on, and nor does the panel indicator.

The car is high mileage (115,000), so I wanted to know if it is likely to be general wear in the box that is causing it, or a loose switch. Anyone had similar problems?. It is just irritating as it still works, but would like to cure it if it won't cost a fortune.

Cheers,

Aidan
