Pick up a copy of this months Banzai. It has a feature on a very ultra mega rare TRD converted MR2 spyder with a 3S-GTE engine swap.

The damn thing is unbelievable gorgeous.

isnt the Spyder the Mk3?

If so, it doesnt have a 3S full stop - it has the 2ZZ-GE (I think), the 1.8 N/A VVTi...

ahhh, the new Mk3 is called the sypder in the US...

the Mk2 Spider (as Matt pointed out) was a 3s-GE..

The one in Banzai belongs to Paul Bowes and is a Jap imported TRD Mark 2 Spider.

It was made by TRD with a 3S-GE N/A engine.

It has since been modded with a 3S-GTE engine.

Only 91 of these cars were made between 1996 and 1999.

So that makes it one of the rarest Toyotas ever made. :bookworm:
