 BLITZ Access ECU

Hi..Appologies for no pics (I'm new on the seen - also not got a dig camera yet) I have got my self a GT4 ST205 1996 UK Car (complety stock V NICE:-] looking into performance upgrade options. Inductions seem to mind boggling, not sure as to go down the option of pannel or induction kit - with regards to heat intake from engine bay with later option. Secondly wanted to know with exhaust systems I prefer the not so noisy systems but with a back box which is facing straight out rather than at an angle - I am on the edge of ordering the Aussie 3" down pipe with de-cat, thinking of getting that fitted until I decide which exhaust to go for. Thirdly wanted to know if any one has any ideas on the Blitx Access ECU's anf if they are any good? As much feed back will be great many thanks

aftermerket ECU's are only as good as the person mapping them, find out who can map the ECU before you fork out for it.

If your after a 3" downpipe like the aussie, get yourself on the GT4 owners club.

www.gt4oc.net. there's a guy called jj-jap on there that does 3" stainless steel ones for £90. Loads of people in the club have bought them and they all seem more than please with the results they gave. He's also currently developing an exhaust system based on Blitz Nur spec likely to be between £250-400 with the higher price possibly including a dp. The system has been test fitted by one of the members and he seemed well chuffed with it. Need to be carefull with full through 3" systems though as they tend to result in boost creap with the standard turbo.

Are the downpipe fairly straight forward to replace?

Glad to see it, another st205 driver!

Blitz Access ECU's are great, they come from Blitz pre-mapped so they are good for any ST205. The Ecu will adjust to your car just like a Toyota one.

Im my experience i would say as far as exhausts go an Aussie downpipe with a Blitz Nur Spec R is a very good way to go. Many ST205 owners have opted for this route (including myself). It has a deep grunt but isnt too loud.

As far as filters go the HKS Super/Megaflow offers the most freeflow but it does not filter very well. The Apexi and Blitz induction kits filter better. Trd and Blitz both do very good Panel filters.

If you go down the induction kit route you should make sure you get plenty of ventalation into the engine bay as the 3SGTE runs VERY hot. Remove the underbonnet insulation and use some kind of heat shield on the induction kit. Dont worry about stories of the heat making the bonnet paint go funny - its all rubbish.

I would recommend the first thing you do is get a set of Iridium sparks and have your belts/fluids changed unless you know they have been done already. Get you engine working top notch before playing with it ;)
