Wiring Help Needed

:help: Can anyone please tell me what each of the wires for the radio do on a 2.2TD EMINA, (Lucida).

I have taken out the old Toyota radio / cassette and am trying to replace it with a single disc CD player, and the wires are confusing me.

I am new to this club, but it looks good so far. :)

use a tester light and check them out but it will be something roughly along these lines.

POWER +ve will be either RED or BROWN

EARTH -ve will be black

the speaker wires are !Removed! colours in Toyotas so look for pairs one plain and one with little white stripes in either pink, green, grey, white (cant tell you which is left or right but the white striped ones are -ve and the plain are +ve

then you may have one for 'illumination' which will probably be blue/white or orange

electric aerial or accessorys is normally blue.

but if you connect up the power + - then see if any others get live after you turn the ignition or turn the stereo on it not hard to work out, just make sure that none of the wires short out on each other.

If you go to a good car spares shop they generally have a connection system from the car type to the new stereo
