Hello all,

I just read somewhere the Elise is upping it's power from 120 to 180bhp by using the Toyota Celica VVti engine.

What's all that about then?

Lotus want to sell the Elise in America and need a federally approved unit. The Celica unit is, the Rover engine isn't.

Also whilst the Rover engine is very light because of its clever design, when pushed to its limits it becomes more fragile. See this months EVO magazine for the report.

I mean as if they were going to let vauxhall out-do them with the 220turbo
