Rear Parking Sensor Loudspeaker

My Avensis 1.8 2005 came with rear parking sensors. The problem is the loudspeaker. It is in the trunk. So, if I have radio on, I almost can't hear it. Then, if there is a person sitting on the back seat, just at the front of the loudspeaker, gets sick of beeping. It's too loud for the back seat passenger.

So, I've decided to change the place of the loudspeaker. I'm gonna move it to the dashboard. It's not a problem, there is a lot of room to pass the cable, it's very accessible but I just don't have any clue where exactely to put the loudspeaker. Below the ignition there are some holes, like for loudspeaker. Are they for other loudspeaker (Lights on, igntion key in, no seatbelt...) or that place is avaliable?

Any suggestions????

I realy have to do it. Few days ago made a scratch on my rear bumber because couldn't realize sound changed from interminente to permanent. It's not big deal, I'll fix it with touch-paint, but don't want it to happen again.

Thanks in advance!

I recently fitted rear parking sensors (4) to my T-Spirit Avensis and I made a small bracket for the sounder/indicator unit and velcro-ed (not drilled) it on the rear parcel shelf in the nearside corner.

The sounder/indicator unit indicates by L.E.D's which of the four detectors are operating and how far away is the obstruction. In addition the sounder has a choice of high or low levels of volume.

I think if a visual display is included, then the rear is the obvious place for fitting since that is the way you will be looking when reversing. If not, then it dos not matter where you put it. It does help, of course, if you have some way of reducing the sounder volume.

I have not had any complaints yet from my rear passengers about the sound, even when the sounder is set at full volume, after all, it is only on for a few seconds when reversing.

If I were you, I would'nt go to the hassle of running the sounder wiring to the front of the cabin, just put it in the back and let your passenger put up with the noise.
