do they both have the same engine code? I mean as in "3S-GTE" or "1ND-TV"...

If so then I would say that it was worth a punt...

Depends what age of Hiace I guess... Do they not share a chassis?

Good luck,

Alan :thumbsup;

Also another thing to consider is you may have to change the manifolds because normally N/A manafolds differ from a manifold that has to accomadate a turbo and you also would have to find a way to pipe in a oil supply to the turbo.

The engine code for the 2.4 turbo diesel hi-lux surf is 2L-TE

HTH

Steve

So the code for your engine would be a 2L-T"something" ... I believe the "E" means its turbocharged.

Where are the engine geeks when you need them :rolleyes: I'm only repeating stuff I read here a while ago...

I would have thought it would be the T i could be wrong but the about this on the Hilux's but on the MR2 SW20's the N/A engine is the 3SGE and the turbo charged engine is the 3SGTE not sure if the same rule of thumb goes for all toyota's

the T means turbo

the E mean that the fuel system is electronic (basicly the ECU that the 2.4 td has)
