I like the Mark 2 and I'm looking forward to seeing pics of Echo hrs's when he gets it.

I will seriously be considering it when I come to change little #3...

Be nice if they stuck a 2.0 diesel in the range though - that would really go some!

But it would sound like a tractor and only rev to 5000rpm at redline!

Gimme a petrol anyday! :D

True - but its economical and fast!

I'm soo glad Rich got the 2.0 diesel Corolla and not the 1.4 or the 1.6! Its fast in a Corolla so I imagine with less weight it would go even better in the new Yaris!

Told him i didnt like the shape of it and he went off on one at me! :( all i did was say i didnt like the front! The salesmen here dont like it either, they said it doesnt look like a yaris anymore! ahhh well! Just have to wait and see one in the showroom.

Too right Em - I would have signed up already!

Is the 2.0 diesel in the Corolla the same as the one in the Rav? My Mum's Rav has a fair bit of poke so I can imagine how much fun it would be in a Yaris :)

Wishful thinking though :(

Yeah, its the same engine - just imagine that in a Yaris, I know its wishful thinking but how cool would it be - the Corolla is pretty nippy as it is, but a 2.0 Diesel Yaris would fly!

So would a 1.8 Petrol Yaris!

Toyota Canada Press Release

Aug 29, 2005

Toyota Motor Marketing Europe (TMME) will stage the world premier of the all-new RAV4 sport utility vehicle (SUV) and unveil the all-new Yaris three-door and five-door hatchbacks, at a press conference at the Frankfurt International Motor Show.

Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) will launch the all-new Yaris in Canada this fall as its entry in the extremely popular sub-compact segment replacing Echo Hatchback (the current Echo hatchback is a rebadged version of the current Yaris). The US will also get the tiny hatchback for the first time, when Yaris enters the market in the spring of 2006.

With the introduction of Yaris, Toyota will again raise the bar and set a new standard in the segment. Yaris will feature dynamic exterior styling, a roomy and chic interior, precise handling, class-leading safety features and outstanding fuel economy.
