Aren't they all a standard size?

I thought that the side repeater lamps on the Yaris were sealed in to the units and not replaceable bulbs??

they are seealed but you CAN bust into them and then its just a capless bulb

the headlight indicators are a clear bulb with an orange dome, i opened up the light and pulled the dome out but its very difficult and you have to spend conciderable time making sure its sealed properly back up again or it turns into a proper sea-monkey tank

Do they just pop off with a screw driver or do you also have to slide it one way?

Plus would it be best to replace the bulb with a with a normal bulb and keep the orange bit, or remove the orange bit and get the orange bulbs?

Plus what about the front indicators as they also have the orange filter bits?

I think that I might try to remove the orange bits and replace them with the orange bulbs  ?

Or wont it matter?

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!

u seem a little confused

front indicator bulbs are clear, they have an orange lens in front of them. to get to it u need to remove the bumper then the light casing.

side indicator bulbs are encased in the unit, havent worked out how to get them open yet

From what i've heard removing the orange lens is the same process as painting the lights black to give a T-Sport effect.

You need to take the head light out, heat up the unit (most ppl put it in the oven for a while) so that it weakens the silicon bond between the outer plastic lens and the casing of the light.

Then its a matter of taking the orange indicator lens out and resealing the unit properly. But getting a air tight and leak proof seal may be quite difficult.

All in all ... not something easy that u can do like changing a light bulb.

its mastik not silicoln :!Removed!:

very difficult to reseal it and not make it look a hash job, the best bet would be to get another mastik loop to fit to it

  • 6 months later...

Sorry for bring up an old post.

I would like to know if you can buy a whole new side repeater light unit with the silver tipped orange bulbs in. as i don't like the "Fried Egg Effect".

I have removed the unit from the wing, I just can't get in (it's sealed).

Does the T-sport have the sliver tipped bulbs?

Has any one managed to change it?

Well I hope some one can help with this.

Cheers
