Qs About A T Sport

Hi Guys, looking to get a 2001 t sport, dont know much about the car so is there anything I should look out for? (eg any common problems)

Also are all the specs on the TS standard and the same?

the spec is all the same, the only thing you could look out for is toyota sat nav.

there really arnt any problems with the yaris if its been regularly serviced and MOT'd so check that

just the usual, HPI check and make sure everything does work and it hasnt been abused really.

agreed, and dont get the toyota sat nav, its a pile of poo to put it blunt, really not worth its money in the slightest ur paying for the brand name and to have it all in one unit, u can pay 1/4 of the price and a decent aftermatket one !!

just usual checks really, full services history give the car once over, brakes tyres in good conditino, ask if theres been any problems, also ask if its been in an accident or had any damage, im sure sometold me that if u dont ask, by law they dont have to tell u.. so worth mentioning!

ooh and make sure u take it for a test drive, see how she feels, the yaris in generally is quite a rattly car, so dont let that put u off !! all in all very nice little car and im sure ull fall in love when u take one for a spin

Generally speaking though, the majority of Yaris; (and most Japanese cars) are incredibly reliable, regardless of mileage, but look out for that full service history, as with any car, its quite important!

Also remember HPI check - no matter in how good a nick it looks, get it checked - its amazing what a bit of good quality bodywork can hide!

Yeah, a HPI check is very important, you know you're not buying an ex write off or a car that's been in any major accidents if that gives a good result.

<_< yea and after a trip to portsmouth for a mini meet and back then what was i saying got us lost once, aparently theres no highstreet, theres also no beach in portsmouth apparently and the number of road names we tried which apparently didnt exist

I played with tom tom in halfrauds....couldn't find my street and it was built in 1982 I think?

So go to Halfrauds and have a play.......apart from not finding my street, it's a sweet bit of kit

Said it before..say it again..what;s the point?!?!! We all travel the same roads a high percentage of the time..the rest of the time..£2.99 AA road map does the trick....and it shows everything.

If you decide to go for it, Ask if you can get the car checked over by a mechanic.. if they say nothing major then you'll take it...if the current owners ummand arr.. walk away.

Disadvantages of a map are that you can't read it safely whilst batting along the road...............satnav tells you in good time to take the next turning right/left at the roundabout ahead and if you go off route it recalculates a revised route in seconds.

I for one would be LOST without mine on long journeys...........................although I agree I dont need it to get to work.........but I dont need a map for that :D ;)

sure if your job entails lods of different destinations fine...but we are on a tiny little island? why the need for sat nav...which needs to be regularly updated...gets it wrong quite often...takes you the longest route etc etc etc! and is distracting... most are not just verbal...but visual displays...so your not looking where your going half the time.

I take it from your reply that you have never used satnav.

I find it takes a good deal of stress out of driving, which has got to be a good thing these days.

The visual displays on my satnav are read in just a glimpse at the display....just like the speedo and only then to just confirm the route given by the voice.

With practice the eyes never really leave the road any longer than a glance at the speedo or the rear view mirrors.

My satnav system (Garmin Street Pilot III) has a selection that I can set for shortest distance or fastest time and updates are available to me from the Garmin website.

I used to be a Boy Scout and can read maps, but I really think you should try satnav....................you can then throw away those old maps and come into the 21st century :)

i have to agree with red yaris, i am awful at directions, but sat nav allows me to get to where i want to go quicker and safely as it has voice feature, most do

this may be a small island but its got a **** load of roads
