Hi all, bit new to this, so hopefully someone can help. Running an estima emina and the orange light comes on with heavy acceleration. also the turbo has sounded louder like a whooshing sound when running. looked all through the site and so have checked all hoses for leaks and splits around torbo but non found. actuator doesn't seem to do anything with hard throttle (stationary, no load). not sure if it should? light resets when car turned off and on again. many thanks for any help. Matti.

Ok, when I bought mine about a year ago the orange turbo light came on and it was like driving a snail. The garage I got if from put in a replacement turbo and it is fine now. There are lots of codes that the car give, on board diagnostic codes, known at ODB. There are a lits of these at

http://uktoyotaestimasite.tripod.com/index.html

and also uselful information how to play aroudn with things.

The orange light basically says there is something wrong with the turbo, this can be lots of things and should be checked out. A good turbo diesel mechanic can tell yo this inside an hour. You dont want to really mess up the turbo they are not cheap if they go bang.

Well that is it for now, as mine just failed its dam MOT and looks like lots of money required to fix it.

regards

David
