hi there new to here well my brother had a G6r in Black got it brand new outta the show room when it first came out had less tha 1000 on the clock i think oh what a car i loved it so much as it would have been mine when i passed i was 10 at the time so as you can imagine i was happy anyway it was a luvly car washed it everother weekend and polished it almost everyweekend it was oru pride and joy kept real good care of it.

well as the story goes on my bro was on his way to work as usuall on a morning andlike any other day he would travel to sheffield. well this day was different

he was travelling at a nice speed of around 95mph (over the speed limit but still with 183bhp what can u do)in the third lane untill he notice a car that had stopped in the third lane in front of him as soon as he realised it was a car stood still (as u cnt really tell fruma distance) he looked to see if anyone was in the second lane lukkaly for my bro no one was in the second lane so he manged to dodge the parked up ar that was in the third lane, lukky but nt lukky enuff as he gt clippd by another driver who also tried to swerve and clippd the rear end of my bros G6R sending him and the car into the central reservation at 75 and spiraling outta control completeting 3 fulll 360 tturns and ending up on the hard shoulder pretty hourondeous eh :ffs: and the beutifull craftsmanship of the car after such a crash still allowing him to open the door freely and to get out and sit on the grass at the side of the motorway looking at his pride and joy go up in smoke yes he walked out of it with just a 2" scratch under his left knee.

as u can imagine the results of the crash must have been pretty bad but thank god for the makers of the g6r which has allowed my brother to be still here today suffering nothing other than a scratch. :D

later on he came to know why the ar that had caused the accident had stopped wait fr it i aint bin sexist or owt but a women whose front screen gt smashed by a stone that had chipped up and she thought she would stop where she wnted

well anyway the whole pint of my post is to

1-prove once again what crazy drivers women are

2-prove the safety of a g6r

3-to ask anyone who may have a g6rin black for sale who knows where will be abl to find one frum just send to usydagthang@coolgoose.com-numbers,e-mails,dealers anyone anywhere black g6r Tregistered

Sorry to hear that mate, but could you please talk english! This forum isnt a phone that you use txting slang on! :)

Plus since when does a G6R has 183bhp?!?! It was either seriously modifed or you mis typed! As they only came with a crappy 1.6 4A-FE engine pulling about 100-110bhp

Bad luck for your brother but had he been doing 25mph less he no doubt would have had time to avoid it properly.

Just like to add too that you can't say that all women drivers are bad because of one person.

I know many woman drivers who'd show up many of the male drivers on here! ;)

Welcome Noutorious to TOC

109bhp to be precise!

Surely you'd need at least a 4agze to get near 183bhp!

gotta admit i was a bit surprised from the lack of performance of a g6r - give me a corolla ae82 anyday... :D

Well said Treuno, one of my Corollas is 4A FE powered and I too think its a 'crappy' engine. Had no actual problems, it's just I think Toyota lost there way with that engine...

...they make a 1.6 Twincam and then it only pushes out 109bhp :ffs: ...

...so then they say it's designed for economy <_< , ok guys fair enough it is economical but then so is my 4AGE engined Corolla (in fact more economical on a long run) if driven sensibly.

With the passage of every day I think more and more about Converting to 4AGE power with the newer Corolla...

183bhp :lol::rolleyes: the 4afe 1.6 is 109bhp the 1.3 is 89bhp

Nothing wrong with the 4afe in a g6r my mate peter was quite happy chasing me round the Ring when we went to germany last year. And he did much better MPG then me :lol:

So would it be quite easy to put a 4age into an AE102?

I have been looking into doing this for quite a while.

In the far east the AE101/EE101/AE102 (1992 -1997 range)was fitted for a while with the 4AGE (in it's varous guises). Also there are a couple of members with 4AGZE engines in AE111 Corollas on this Forum.

I believe the engine mounting points are the same across the 'AE' range of Corolla hence 4AGE engines can be transplanted.

The 'mechanical/physical side' of transpalnting is not the concern to me but the 'Management system side will be' (Why can't we still have carburettors and Distributors with 'points' in cars today :ffs: ), which is why if ever an engine is obtained make sure it comes with the 'Loom' (hence importers sell engine units as car 'front cuts' that way you have everything, although one does wounder if there is damage in some way considering these front cuts must be the remains of accident damaged cars!).

Reason for considering this route is due to my '98 Corolla now being 'worthless' due to second hand car values in this country and due to it's condition (which I consider to be superb: super clean including undersides, never required paintwork 'touch up' one previous owner, FSH, 40,000 miles etc.) I have thought it best to keep it ...but if I keep it that 4AFE engine will have to go

P.S. The seats are something else that will have to 'go' as well (not as comfortable as the older Corollas), but thats another story

Both my Mum and Dad used to have AE92's and the 4age in them was well good whenever they opened it up :D It would be nice to have one in my car!

I've also seen the 4agze, that seems quite good to me, but not got any money at the mo so it'll have to wait, only had the car a week anyway!

As for seats, in my GXI i think they are quite good, a lot better than the ones that were in my '93 GLI

 On my ae111 there was only 1 mount that was different when fitting the 4agze :ffs: I reckon it's the same on the 4age 16v and 20v
