Does anyone know if I can take the lower grill off my Yaris without having to remove the whole bumper.

Can I do it by just removing the upper bumper.

I want to respray it Silver, or chrome it.

Any Ideas on chrome how much does it cost?

it just clips out simply! but take it out through the engine bay, therefore open your bonnet! Do it slowly and carefully, its easy as pie really :)

no bolts or screws at all!

Sod the grill, sort that horrible grey bumper out first!! God knows why Toyota decided it would be a good idea to leave some bumpers that manky grey!

My T-Sport one just 'pops' on - I think theres four lower snap clips and four upper ones. Apply gentle even pressure to one clip at a time and they should just snap off.

When you're 'popping' it back on its easier to use a screwdriver or similar to pull the clips back into position - that way you're not dragging against a single peice of plastic.

I found all this out when an idiot pidgeon flew straight into the grill ... messy

I know this is a long shot but any1 have any idea how much a bodyshop or something would be looking at charging to make it chrome for you?

Yeah, would it have really hurt Mr T to just do colour coded bumpers as standard?

Hmm .. not sure that a silver/chrome lower grill will suit the colour of the car. But as said, it'll probably give you more satisfaction getting your grey bumpers colour coded first mate! At least then a silver lower grill will look better as there will be a less complicated colour scheme going on.

Lenry, as you're not too far south from me, I suggest calling the guy who did the repair and spray on mine.

Very good job, very professional, and much cheaper than everywhere else - about half as much!

His bro-in-law, happens to be my manager. As wlel as doing mine, he does work on all sorts of cars, fabrication, metal work, etc.

He's based up just outside Brackley, Northants:

Andrew Garrett is his name. Tell him Johnathan Pape (With the lorry-dented silver Yaris!) sent you.

Thanks for the reply's,

I want to "sliver" the lover grill to match the upper, I am planning on colour coding to bumper in the near future.

I'm just doing little jobs at the moment.

I suspect the re-spray will cost about £300.00 for front and rear.

That is a little steep at the moment.

I'm saving though £8.74 in my VW Camper money box

oh really, £150.00 thats a bit better.

I'll have to look in to it more.

I will have to get a new rear bumper as it's got some major scratches on it.

Oh yeah and that dent.
