have u check the fuse's?

when you say packed up do you mean the light stop working but you know the bulb are fine ?

or

use a meter check and see if there is power going in your switch, if there is then is your bulb, if there isn't ,either something is blow inside your switch or it could be your wire has burn out if thats the case ,you need to trace the wire and once again use a meter find out at which point of the wire you lost the connection to power and make repaired.

or

simple way find the next nearest switch and use the power from that :D

HI MATE

REF THE HEATER ILLUMINATION, WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO ACCESS THEM IS, TAKE OUT THE ASHTRAY, UNDO THE GEAR KNOB AND PULL OFF THE CONSOLE AROUND IT. THIS WILL REVEIL 2 SCREWS. PULL OFF THE CENTRE CONTROL (FAN SPEED) WHICH WILL THE REVEIL ANOTHER SCREEW. ONCE THIS IS DONE YOU CAN THEN PULL THE CENTRE DASH PANEL OFF TO REVEIL ALL THE LITTLE bulbs.

OK!

This happend on my corolla i checked all fuses none where blown took it to my local dealer they changed all bulbs worked fine turned on me headlights on way home and me dials never lit up but center consol did, took it back next morning they changed the dial bulbs and all's been fine since, they found no short circuits or blown fuses it must of been just one of those things.

Thanks for advice, I think its a loose connection because it came on again when I went over a bump...went off again after five minutes. Checked fuses ok, but it will have to go back to Toyota for another problem so will get them to look at the same time!
