The bird is looking to join the Toyota ranks and has her eye on a 90/91 Celica GT UK spec. I did a quick Google but couldnt find anything of relevance on spec and performance.

Are these a good bet reliability wise and what sort of performance/BHP/top speed/0-60/MPG etc do they have?

Any help appreciated :)

Regards,

Rikki

A 90/91 model will be a GENERATION 5 CELICA. (Noticable by curvy body with POP-UP headlights)

They are around Insurance Group 16.

The GT is around 150-154 BHP.

0-60 is approx 7.5 secs (ish)

Top Speed about 140 (give or take a few MPH)

MPG is OK about 25-35 but age/condition may affect that a wee bit.

Very Reliable if looked after and bulletproof - They were probably the best-constructed of the Celica Generations (people may argue this).

I have my Gen 5 still alongside my Gen 7 and the 5 has now done 197,000 miles. Needs a wash though..........

My celica GTi16 is group 15 insurance - Affordable at 19!! £1237 1 Yrs NCD with NUD.

0-60 around 7-8 secs

156bhp If I remember correctly

Top Speed is around 140 (tested on a private road  )

Mines on 156000 miles and has only just failed on it's original clutch!

Ideally I'm looking to keep it until I can afford an Impreza or a GT4 undecided as to which and what gen of both yet!!

Hope that helps!!
