Last night my cousin offered use of his 1991 911 Carrera 2 Tiptronic for the 'Ring trip. I was up half the night um-ing and ah-ing about it and at 4am decided that, depending on the cost of the insurance, I would take it.

This morning he popped into the garage that works on his cars and, whilst they proclaimed if fine for road use, they declared that its myriad of small oil leaks could cause serious problems if it were taken on a track - especially the Nurburgring.

Ah well... Yaris it is and my wallet can rest easy.

Would have been one heck of an experience :D

Saturday looks like a washout :(

Its forecasting for 4 days time - it can all change before then. Anyhow, if its anything like Scotland then the various hills and valleys give microclimates that bare no resemblance to the actual weather forecast...

Last year it was wet on the north section, and dry on the south ..

Yeah... any weather forecast is going to bear little resemblence to the actual weather there.

Praying for good weather though.

Sounds like you've had fun - we have no end of problems with our 205!!!!

Still limited and no chance of getting a delimiter before tomorrow. Have fixed the 2 engine warning lights (charge cooler and speed sensor), soldered up the wire in the ecu that was stripped so now running .9 bar boost but no fcu*ing chance of going over 120 or so.

Damn.

TBH, there are only 2/3 sections of track where you'll get over the 112 limit.

If you can get an Apexi RSM between now and then we can solder it in there. I *had* a spare, but it's gone now.
