Abnormal load to be transported

The movement of an abnormal load from Heathrow airport to Manchester airport is likely to cause light disruption on the roads at the weekend.

The body of a Trident aeroplane, which looks like a giant cylinder, will leave Heathrow at 23:00 on Saturday September 10th and arrive at Manchester airport on the afternoon of Sunday September 11th.

The Highways Agency's abnormal loads team is conducting the majority of the operation overnight in order to minimise disturbance to other road users.

The convoy will be parked at Gaydon services, Warwickshire, overnight.

The M25, M40, M42, M5, M6, and M56 motorways will be affected so please be advised of long delays and possible RTC's.
