Wierd little question

When i flash my lights the stereo mutes, if i flash within 5 secs again though it doesnt, but another 5 secs and it mutes again.

Does it mute when you have dipped on and then flash? Or does it just do it when you are flashing with lights off?

Who wired in the stereo?

both, and its a factory fit as far as i know

Perhaps the main beam is connected into the telephone mute lead maybe?

Though how that would have happened is beyond me.
