What is the general opinion on aftermarket coil over kits for the Paseo/Cynos.

I don't mean complete kits/dampers etc.just the spring/platform kits that convert the original dampers-giving supposed ride height adjustment.

Has anybody fitted a set?

Does anybody know if they are safe? Worthwile investment? They do seem a lot cheaper than even the cheapest of lowering spring kits.

dunno mate, ive seen these about quite a bit recently, not sure about them coz i dont know much about them, but i guess the opinion you could take is that if they're any good quite a few people would have them.

I'm sure Richie(Paseo) has those on his 'seo and says they are good. I could be totally wrong though.

Yep, ur 100% right, I have them on mine.

IMO I think they are brilliant, ive never had any problems with them, Bargain especially considering they are half the price on normal lowering springs.

Although there is a fair bit of work involved on fitting them. I fitted some kyb gas shocks at the same time, might be worth you doing aswell, just to stiffen the ride a bit.

If you need more help or advice just ask.

I wouldn't trust a set of springs costing £ 15 a set on my car. Cheap and Nasty are words perfectly applicable to these.

Most of these eBay resellers make their money by buying massive amounts- discounting the cost of the item then charging huge amounts for postage, especially to 'worldwide' punters as the majority are based in the US..

I have seen different 'looking' coilovers go for $120 and $80-100 shipping...

any coilovers for the price of a lowering kit are "coilover conversions" and not true coilover systems.i wouldnt recomend them for serious drivers. i suppose they are an alternative to a spring only kit

I would get a set like these if i were you, or a nice set from yahoo japan auctions. always tein, trd or buddy club sets for sale on there.

here is a link to a german website who sell the coilovers i spoke about:

They also sell a nice savage kit for the paseo.

 take a look

These look like an option for my paseo. Just wondering how much fiting would cost at the average garage and where i can buy these "coilovers" from. Is it easy to adjust the ride height?

that's because they're pieces of s***. they don't handle well, they are hard and the ride quality sucks. if you're just planning on lowering your car, and you don't care about ruining your struts after a short while, go for it. if you're looking for an aggressive stance, less body roll, better handling, while maintaining a decent ride and conserving the life of your car, get intrax or arospeed springs and kyb struts.

thank you...so many people swear by the coilover conversions but i just think they're pieces of poo for people just looking for the cheapest way to " slam " their car. the best bet is to get matched springs and struts, or a TRUE coilover...options are...well any that will go on the ep82 gt / glanza, cause they share part numbers with the paseo
