Hi people,

i've recently joined on behalf of my father as i own a Nissan and a Honda, but needless to say i dont like to see a good vehicle go to waste, as is the problem with my dads toyota.

He owns a Toyota Hilux Surf SSR limited edition 2.4td and itsa beginning to mothball, as we dont know the source of the faults. The car ran beautifully until a few months back when the clutch began to slip, then a couple of days later we started her up and for some unknown reason all the intrument panel lit up and stayed that way:(

At first we thought it might have been the alternator, so we re-cond it, but still a problem, so we got a new one and again the problem persists... so does anyone know how to cure or remedy this problem and how to solve the case of the slipping clutch aswell, I'd probably be able to do it if i had a manual/walkthrough(with pictures:D) but i could only source one from Australia and its rubbish:S

Hi Lance. How old is the clutch? It probably needs the whole clutch and pressure plate changed.

Its not a difficult job if you have the space and tools.

Obviously the gear box has to be removed.

With the eternally lit dash lights ,I would suspect it is in the control stalk that turns the lights on.

The best manual are the $$ Toyota FSM $$ and the 2nd best are the aussie manuals(gregorys),the ones you dont like.

Hang onto the aussie manual as it has pics you dont get in aFSM
