1981 Soarer...

Hi, ive just sold my R31 Skyline, and have purchased a toyota soarer 1981. It is a 5MGEU motor which is a 2.8L DOHC EFi engine.. and would like to know of some mods to give it a bit more grunt. I know of the usual mods, but anything would be most helpful, thankyou. Also, information to whether the 7MGTE turbo ecu and injectors fit or sizes would be great, as i am looking at turboing it after the engine is rebuilt.

Although the soarer is techincally a Toyota you may find a little more joy with our sister site www.lexusownersclub.com, I'm sure they will be able to help with any queries you may have in regards tothe soarer....

Thanks alot for the information, i will check out that link. I am glad to be a member of the site, it looks full of information, just, need to find 5MGEU stuff now :P But, i have a pretty good knowledge with nissan's.. and would be happy to help anyone in need. My Nissan mates are harassing my because i sold my car... but you get that, my soarer is 10x better.. well, not at the moment, it doesnt go! But will soon.. apparently the head gasket is gone on it.. i dont know if its the head or not. Will see soon, just bought it today!

My car is old though.. before Lexus's time i think :P There is just new stuff on the Lexus forums.. ill check it out 2moro, when im on a cable net connection, its my bedtime now :P

The Toyota Soarer is pretty much cared for under the Lexus Badge as it dates from the day when Lexus was still in it's infancy and don't think the Soarer was sold in the uk only imported. My brother-in-law has the Soarer Twin Turbo which is great fun to play with....

The knowledge on the Lexus site is as good as it is here and we are both very closely linked so you will see a lot of people who post over here post there as well....

i have also just brought a toyota soarer 1982 with the 5M-GEU motor in it, but its broken a ring and im getting it rebult, it also needs some body parts, its super packed with features, but if anyone has any random information i wouldbe pleased to know

Toyota launched the Lexus brand in about 1990, the Soarer was in production from 1981 and as such has always been badged as Toyota in its home market. The MK3 Soarer was the first to be sold as a Lexus in other markets
