Hi Lux Swapping To Unlaeaded

need some help with this wots best way of doing it and will it run on unleaded with out swapping it or will it bugger it up or is there any ways round it cant get 4 star in my area

I thought petrol Hi lux`s were designed to run on unleaded. :unsure:

Hi Jackman. Unleaded engines have harder valves to make up for the lack of cushioning that comes when using leaded fuel.

If you use unleaded fuel in an unsuitable engine it cause the valve seats to chip and you lose compression.Eventually a valve will break off :eek:

Toyota changed to all unleaded motors about 82-83 so you maybe ok.

Your dealer should be able to tell you from the info on the body plate or engine number.
