Hello Peeps,

As I'm picking up my Yaris this week I had better get some insurance. Now as there is quite a few of us here I was wondering, if there is any where that is cheaper for Yaris's.

I'm a 32 yo, married male, with around 4 years NCB, no accidents, or convictions, the car will be garaged.

Cheers for your help.

Or, of coulrse you could go Gold and make use of the discount via a specialist insurer - I saved more than my subscription on that one buy alone...

Personally I wouldn't touch Direct Line or Toyota Insurance/Royal & Sun allians but thats through having to deal with them in the past

;)

Mine is insured with Tesco too, by far the cheapest for me on a 2005 1.3 Yaris Blue with no mods :)

There is also a 10% discount for buying online.

Hello All,

Just my thoughts on insurance, SMART people DON’T budget ( insurance ) , had no end of problems with them, they lost two sets of documents that I personally handed into their office in Barnsley, quoted nearly £430 for my 98 corolla lift back 1.6 ( bog standard ) “because its Japanese “. Had to pay extra for monthly , they cancelled my insurance, because of the problems with the lost documents, I checked with the bank, no problems and direct debit fine and waiting to go out.

I made no end of trips into the Barnsley office trying to sort it out providing them with the documents again. They kept sending me letters threatening legal recovery of money supposedly owed them. I must have been into the office 8 times in the week . They even told me they had letters waiting to go into the post for me .I asked them to give me the letter whilst I was there ( save them the postage ) , they said they couldn’t do that.

Budget basically held me to ransom for my ncd cert, saying they wouldn’t send it on to the new insurance co ( corn hill ) till I payed them .Even ended up paying for a breakdown service that I couldn’t use for the next 9 months £ 20 for the service and £20 to Budget for making the call to arrange. All the time this farce was playing out the bloke who admitted losing the vital docs , sat at the back of the office with his head down .

Corn hill would have saved me over £ 170 on the other firms quote , including my partner who had only just passed her test . No fee for monthly payments and a free courtesy car when and if I needed it, forgot to mention this is fully comp by the way , also protected no claims for free.

All in all a bitter experience, and to cap it off I have to go into the Budget office delivering stuff in my job, really p****s me off , still I smile and just ask them to sign on the dotted line .At least they all got their commission !!

Cheers

Albi

I'm with Highway aswell through Adrian flux though, but my premiums £625 all declared. <_<

If you want the cheapest insurance for stardard car then i find directline to be the best imo, but thats not taking into account ease of claim like the others have mentioned. But luckily i havent had such experience and i dont want to either! :)

I went with Norwich Union Direct after getting a quote by confused.com. With regards to Budget, I wouldn't go near them either, my dad (& boss) had the company vans etc insured by them & they basically took the :censor: . Avoid like the plague!
