To be honest, Nitrous is, well, okay...

If all you want is to have an extra power boost available at the flick of a switch (or press of a button if you watch too much F&F) then its fine.. But if you actually looking to improve the performance of your car, then its the wrong route.

Sure it can be a cheap install, but refills can be expensive, and it can cause a lot of damage if not done correctly..

You'd be better off looking at Superchargers or Turbos - okay they cost more, but the power is going to be always there, and there isnt the recursive cost..

You can get the manifold and sports ca'T' from envy performance. Will set you back about 350 quid i think. NOS in the long term will ruin your engine. And to be honest, it's not all that great on smaller engined cars. And i agree with Fidgits about what he said about the NOS

Don't do it! Not good for the engine, it's expensive and a small normally aspirated engine won't even show that much improvement as others have said. Go for the other performance mods suggested instead.

One other thing.... when would you use it?

On second thoughts, better not say. ;)

The Yaris 1.5 has fairly weak internals, NOS will stress (and ruin) them in short order. EL Prototypes did extensive testing on the 1NZ-FE with higher boost supercharging and found the engine could only run about 5 psi of boost reliably...

I think the TTE supercharger only runs around 5psi of boost...Perhaps Kimi knows?

Cheers

yep kimi knows :D

i'm running at .7psi and i know the blitz charger of markyboys is running .7

so if all the tuning companys are tuning to .7 that must be a safe place to take it to

tried nitrous, it aint THAT good on small engines, you cant utilize it enough or youll burn out the valves, i ran a wet 25bhp system for a day or so, was fun ill admit but your not really gaining anything substantial

then swapped it to a Discovery V8 with 75bhp jets... now that was cool :D
