Hi guys!

I have Carina XL -90 without cat.

I was wondering make Her a little devil.

How does 3SFE engine goes under the hood?

What changes i need to do?

Is there any better engine available to Carina II ?

What about turbo? I have one Mitsubishi TD05-12T in the garage available :).

i dunno but it is really worth doing. the car is pretty old. to turbo a engine it would cost a fortune.

why the 3sfe????

if u are going to change your engine, then consider putting in a decent one like the 3sge.

if u are going to change your engine, then consider putting in a decent one like the 3sge.

yup the 3sfe engine sucks ! i have one - i wish i had the 3sge put in now (170 bhp instead of 140)

If you put a turbo in your car, buy a 4A-GZE crankcase for the turbo engine base.

I bet it will be strong inaf for turbo base, because GZE engine is supercharged.

With un aspirated engines is also the the 4A-GE choice.. A-fe can stand 0,5 bar boost with out tuning. And if hunger grows, polish cylinder head, buy megasquirt -engine cortrolunit and lower cylinder pressures.

The 3S-FE/-GE swap is more difficult, because you have to change engine mounts, driving shafts, gearbox and electrics, so I thin it is way too much work to do :blink:
