The milage is not at all excessive for a 16 or so year old car!!!!

Yes they do tend to rot, look around the arches, the brackets that hold on bumpers and trim etc If its a T top check for leaks, and rust caused by leaks. Also they can go along the top above the windscreen...

Cracking littel cars though.. I love then!!!

No its not excessive - just average - mine has just hit 160K on a G plate

Things to look out for - wheel arches - usually the first to go,

some have problems with 5th gear - although havent experienced it with mine

If its a T-bar check the seals- all of them leak but some worse than others

then just the usuals - check tyres etc - and boot floor to check for any prangs

Interior - dont think there is much to say - just check the electricals - on the drivers side there is a panel with lots of buttons for the windows - check these all work - there should be one for driver and passenger side - one to take the drivers side automatically up and down (with just one press of the button) and one for the door locks aswell

Apart from that cant suggest much else - hope you get one they are very enjoyable little cars ;)
