Hey guys, long time no see, my previous name on here was caergybirob, but I forgot the password, and the email address it was under, so just re-registered, if an admin wants to delete the old account feel free lol.

Anyway, got a 99 Avensis 1.8GS Est.

Changing the oil tomorrow, and cos the car has got 80k on the clock, have gone for the Castrol GTX High Mileage..., one quick thing tho, its a five litre bottle, so I know I have enough, but not a bleedin clue as to the amount the engine holds.. I know you keep checking on the dipstick, not that dorky lol, but just inquisitive..cheers

Hope everyone is well and good!!!

An engine like these shouldn't need high mileage oil at 80k! They wear very well.

What grade of oil are you putting in? Don't forget, thicker oils will also compromise your fuel consumption.

Engines years ago might have benefitted from this high-mileage oil, but a proper old school Toyota engine will do several 100,000 miles so you don't need any of that, my dad's car has done 154,000 miles and is still tight, even Toyota reckoned that the 1UZ-FE in his car isn't classed as run in until 90,000 miles.
