Corolla E12 1.6 Vvti Gearing

Hello,

Sorry if it sounds dull, but as English is not native to me could one tells me what does one mean when he say that corolla e12 has short/low gearing. Of course I know the literal meaning, but I can't figure out exactly what is technical one.

Low gearing means that you don't get much speed for your engine revs

Short gearing means that you don't have much difference between gear ratios in the box (i.e. you'll be changing gear a lot)

Depends, for example having short gearing but a high top gear will help you get good performance by always being in the power band but once in top gear helping the fuel economy
