Hi all, just joined & wanted to introduce myself. Names Phil & I own a 98 gen 6 Celica in black. I live in Castleford West Yorkshire. I bought the car a few months back & love it.

Reason for joining the club, found a link from another Celica site, had a look around & was impressed. One thing I want to do is meet others with Celica’s or other Toyotas for advice & comradeship. I noticed on the meetings forums that there seem to be regular meets in my area, some just down the road.

Previous cars owned, mostly the usual boring euro boxes except for a 7-year stint with a Nissan Silvia, which was a lot of fun as rear wheel drive 1.8 turbo. Sadly that has now gone due to rust but now have my Celica which I like a lot more. The only gripe I have with it is that it should have been rear wheel drive. Apart from that not much & I just love the shape. I feel like I’m piloting a missile when driving. Maybe that’s a bit childish at the ripe old age of 40 but it brings the kid out in me.

I am now totally skint as I have just replaced the standard head unit & added a sub so now when I drive down the road the experience is enhanced with the rumble of the box in the boot.

Congratulations on getting a Gen 6; lovely cars. Though I agree it would have been even better if it was RWD.
