As most of u know I am currently upgrading my hifi and my headunit blew! Grrr the only part i wasnt going to chance since I was saving up for the pioneer Avic X1-R. But in the end got an Ipod ready headunit and an Ipod. Where is best 2 mount the ipod? I got the 20gb colour screen 1 off eBay for a pretty good price but where is best 2 install this in the yaris?

Thanks

Also be warned 165mm Alpine Type-R Speakers dont fit in the Yaris unless you cut the door card... :ffs: Hopefully look good wen finished

Has anyone mounted an ipod in the yaris yet? If so where and what cradle did you use? Need some ideas as my install is coming along now. Got the false floor done just need the perspex amp covers now and the carpet before that is finished. Also awaiting the headunit then I can finish off the wiring. Currently the wires have been laid. All the power cables are on the left of the car, the speaker cables through the middle and the three RCA cables on the right. Hopefully is going to sound good! Still waiting for the sub.....been a month now since it was ordered :ffs:

i have an ipod in my yaris....but what i have dont is bought the "i-trip" fm frequency thing, so i can transfer the music output through car Speakers

.... and i usually keep the ipod in the side compartment or near steering rack compartment, as i dont want people to know i have a ipod plus i hate any sort of mobile phone holder type things in the car.

Only thing with the i-trip is that u lose some quality. I mean for best quality I would use CDs in the headunit but so much easier having all the music on the ipod. Just need somewhere 2 put it....preferable on show as its quite a cool MOD imo.

i would personally mount out of site as i think it looks a lot nicer that way. I dont think ipods are a particularly attractive bit of kit and would stick out like a sore thumb against a yaris interior! Im sure there are MILLIONS of cradles for it if you just search on google or any car audio website you can find. I personally would just get a basic mount and mount in the cubby hole or some kool accesible place that out of site.

I'm sure she won't mind, but Charis fitted and Ipod transmitter and charger to her Yaris..she has a photo of it in her garage:

Not sure if that is what you want, but you can get an idea from it that way :)
