Sticky Accelerator Pedal

does anyone expereice a sticky accelerator pedal.

i.e when i push the accelerator down and it let go the engine would hesitate at about 2000 revs and then go to idle.

any ideas

It's more likely to be a sticky throttle cable...

Check by working the throttle under the bonnet, that way you will be able to work out whether its the cable or the assembly..

I had the same problem after a shop in Texas rebuilt my carburetor. Then again the engine is 16 years old. Apparently some bolts were too tight, and with a warm engine they were binding.
