Hardwire Cigar Lighter To Ignition

Im wanting to hardwire x2 cigar lighter adapters to the ignition of my Avensis, anyone know of any problems the may cause to the eclectics and the best way of doing this job?

im wanting to run a psp in my car and an fm transmitter for mp3s, the only way to do this is with cigar lighter adapters, as my cars a taxi my cigar lighter is out of use due to the taxi meter blocking it, any ideas?

Can't you hardwire it into the car, behind the dash, then have cable leading out to the appliance that you want to connect. The FM modulator you could hide anyway behind the dash, and just have the cable to the MP3 player showing, and as for your PSP do the same.

yeah this is what i need to do but unsure how to hardwire the adapter, maybe i should buy another 2 cigar lighters and wire it in that way

Why don't you use the existing feed for your cigarette lighter? If you come off that, you are using existing cabling that is already protected by the correct fuse, therefore you shouldn't overload it.

What you are using shouldn't do that anyway. The main panel around the stereo comes off easily enough in the Avensis, so you can hide stuff behind there.
