Finally Back On The Road...

Blew gearbox a few week ago while 'tootling' along and finally got round to changin it this weekend. What an absolute pain in the backside it was just to get the old box off, let alone get the new 1 back on! :ffs: :censor: Then theres the countless bolts n brackets holdin everything together, toyotas designers must have thought, lets put a bracket here, strengthen it, reinforce it, then add a few more bolts just for good measure n then make it as difficult as possible to get it off because of everything else. Thats then u can see how well built they are, but a complete :censor: to work on! All turned good in the end, no dreaded left over bolts n runs as good as new again :D

Happy-

Would like to change another :censor:

Bet it was worth all the hard work in the end though :D

Just noticed on one of your pics that you have removed that big padding thing that is stuck to the bonnet. Is it ok to do this as i didnt know if it would be a bad idea having rain going straight onto the turbo?? :help:

Thanks

with it on it hinders cooling when movin as the large vent is covered, suppose its just preference but a few peeps on the gt4oc have also done it, plus u get a nice heat haze when stationary

the padding is one thing but there is another panel i'm sure thats under the vent on thebonnet so no rain falls directily onto the heat sheaild for the turbo.
