Dead easy, people makeit out as a mssive chore but its well easy. u need an adapter from autoleads PC2-17-4 i think. then take the knobs off the heater contoles (the outside two), take the asktray out. u will see screws in each of these areas. then the centre bit of tha dash comes out. that pocket which the new stereo fits into clips off then all u do is conect the wiring harness and the radio and put everyhing together again.

if u search the Audio and Electectics bit of the forum ull find csome better instrustions. if u want any more help givve me a shout

what last poster said is spot on but most toyotas dont use a cage to fit the head sets they screw into they sides of the unit so dont worry if you find it hard at first you will get there eventually, but you might have to shave off a few inchs on the plastic bit that covers the heater controls etc....

all depending on the style of headset you've bought i.e. if its a front loader cd player you should be fine, but if like my unit were the front flips down before you load your cd's then to fit it properly shaveing the plastic bit might be required.

i dont have a yaris i've a glanza but my mam does and her local toyota dealer fited a standard yaris cd player in no time for her really cheaply......

anyway good luck with you're ice install, and with any bit of luck you should be cranking thouse tunes in no time,

regards,

srd.......

ive PM'd this all over the place so ill just stick it in the workshop section now...

right, heres the thing in whole.

firstly, pull off the knobs for the heater vents. on the first and third you will see 2 screws behind them. unscrew them. gently pull the bottom and it will pop up, the pull it out. you might have to wiggle it about a bit at the top because behind the screen there are 2 hook things holding it in. undo the wiring looms at the back (there colour coded so putting them back isnt hard). them remove the top section of the dash.

now for the bottom.

once you have removed the top section you are now presented with some white framework with some hoses going into it. there are 2 clips at either side, just unclip it and move it out the way. dont disconect these hoses. just lift it out the way. now you should be able to see the top of the CD player. good for you. you should also be able to see the 2 screws holding it in (if you cant there at the back left and right). undo these. now. pull out the ash tray. and look in the hole it leaves. 2 more screws for you to get. undo these and then give it a sharp pull. it will pop off. undo the loom on the back of the CD player and get rid of that bit.

well done you've now got a gaping hole in your dash board!

im sure you can figure out how to get the CD player into the frame its easy as pie.

if theres any bits your still stuck on, PM me.

ok i've already posted this problem in another thread, but its getting no replies.

I took the dash off, took the wires out.

cd player wouldn't fit, also i need an adapter for it anyway.

now the problems start, putting it back together and fixing it in place:

the radio/small lcd display no longer works at all... pressing the power button does nothing, which is worrying, even more so is the fact that the A/C button no longer functions either, nor does A/C as a matter of fact.

I can't fathom what i've possibly done to have broken all this as there was no forceful movements/pulling/etc

please, please, please, help me.

it sounds like you haven't plugged something back in?

you can't get the plug in the wrong socket so i'm not sure.

Oli, i'm deadly sure i've plugged everything back in

the only socket spare is one at the top of the dash next to a big plug, but that was empty to begin with, i'm really confused :(:( and paranoid

I know this might sound daft..... which is me all over

But have you checked you fuses to see if you've accidently blown one?

Could be something as simple as that???

So that way as you got so many things that are not working!!

Just a thought

Nath
