I dont know much about the engine tech. but i thought this comment on another site was interesting:

" personally don't think the 2ZZ-GE is any match for the K20 unit used in the CTR. First of all, the 2ZZ-GE has only a balanced crankshaft and lightweight conrods. That's all. CTR's engine is more highly tuned from the factory in my opinion.

Is the K20 an open deck design? I think the fibre liners and open deck of the 2ZZ-GE limits the amount of boost you can have. All in all, CTS = sports/hot hatch, CTR = Race hatch."

I thought it had steel liners also can anyone explain this in simple language?
