Ok Ok, not sounding to stupid, do you have a E11 or E12 model (current shape)

If the later, i can help you to a certain point.

if its the E11 to get the head unit out you need to remove the air vents below it and undo the two big bolts holding the headunit in place. As for the door Speakers, yes they are a kind of rivit, i just drilled mine out and reattached the new Speakers with a custom made speaker surround.

When you deattach the air vents, you have access to head unit (with display) and you also can deattach whole panel under vents. You also must take off that three ventilation control knobs. When you take off the lower panel, you can dismantle the cd-player. The radio tuner is in cd-player part, so the upper head-unit has nothing with audio, accept the control buttons.

So - remove factory cd-player - attach new unit - done!

Board computer, temperature indicator etc. will be shown on upper display as before...

Ask if you need anything else.

I'm from Belgrade, so my english is maybe not so good.. :)

Hey and welcome Dovlagsi :) Umm...how did u manage to get a pioneer unit into that slot. I'm sure the plastic surround will overlap the fron fascia?

Thanx for all the advice..iv just changed over my head unit........everythin works fine an it was alot more simple thn i fort!!

the comment about the pioneer head unit i can understand ......to get my alpine to fit i had to do some minor things as when i initially put it in although the initial unit fitted the face wouldn go on as it slightly over lapped the lip of the fitted panel.......this was solved simply.....first i took the head unit back out an if u look closely there are to small notches on the top of the pocket below.i sanded them off in lik 5 secs an tht makes the unit sit another 4 or 5mms down..then if ur still havin problems then change the angle of the the metal bracket tht holds the unit in...i did both an with these very simply adjustments u can get any heaunit in no problems........

now iv jst gotta get the door panels off which i had a quick go at yesterday an it was very difficult other then i could work out how to remove the handle on the panel which even once i took the screw at appeared 2 to be held in by somethin....then i can drill the rivets out an finally put my ince in....

thanx for the help evr1

It seems complicated at first but is easy with practice! Good luck anyway! :D

what you've shown in your picture and what you've described to do is 2 diifferent things. Is there definately enough space below the trip computer to fit a single DIN headunit? what you have shown in the attached picture is fitting the head unit in the storage space below the air controls. I HAVE A PIONEER TV HEADUNIT TO FIT INTO A 2002 COROLLA BUT DONT WANT TO LOSE THE LUXURY OF MY TRIP COMPUTER, CAN ANYONE HELP (POSSIBLY WITH VISUAL AIDES?)?
