I've just bought a 1995 corolla and want to fit my sony head unit, but can't see how to remove the original stereo. Can anyone tell me how to take out the original and put my head unit in? thanx

I'm in the same boat....I have a pre Aug 97 Corolla (I think its the same as 95) and want to remove the r/cassette player to fit a sony cd player, I know it involves removing the panel around the air vents and heating controls but I dont want to start yanking it out till I know whats what !! if you figure it out let me know.

i have a 94 so its the just the same what you do is unscrew the two screws abve the wee dookit below the stero then that wee panel kinda hangs out then push the airvents down so to get a grip of that panel and pull it out(give it a good yank nothing will break)

then disconnect the cables from the clock and the hazard lights and rear window heater then all you need to do is unscrew the headunit...

unscrew the wee brackets of the oem stereo screw it onto ur new h/u then do the complete reverse and hey presto ur done

i figured this out myself and im by no means an expert on these things

hi. remove the air vents with a quick tug. don't be scared of breaking them they do need a good pull. then there are 2 bolts behind where the air vents were. remove these and then the hump lifts off....
