Interior Noise Kit

I've just received the "Interior Noise Kit", Nº: 08231-00801.

When I opened the case I found a lot of different parts to apply, but as the box has no any guide of how to do it and where to put each of them, I was wondering if any of you guys has done it already and how, or, if there is any site on the Net explaining how to do it.

Avensis 2005

I dont know if anyone has done this work, but I would be very interested to hear from other Forum members if they have.

I have commented at some length on this Forum (and written to Toyota GB) about the perceived high road noise level on the Avensis, especially those fitted with the 17" low profile tyres.

I made the suggestion that some form of additional internal soundproofing could be made available to aleviate the problem, but I was not aware that such kits actually existed on the Toyota parts list.

I wonder if this kit is available in the U.K

Sorry, don't have an answer to your question, but I'm very interested that there is a kit available.

Can you tell us more about it. What does it consist of, how much did it cost etc..

Many thanks

Andrew

I guess somebody got it wrong.

"Interior Noise Kit" means treatment for interior parts, like dashboard, doors etc. Doesn't have to do anything with road noise. Usualy used to take care of that cracking noise comming from dashboard. It has been designed in few parts,. Some are for those wooden or carbon imitation stripes, some for central onboard computer display... I'm not sure what are others for. The are like soft adhesive peaces in many shapes. I'll be waiting to see if anyone knows which of them to apply where.

They could be the anti-rattle kits for the new Avensis that Toyota have issued, in the UK though these should be fitted by the dealer I would have thought, I think they have released about 4 different kits so far, the earliest models probably requiring all 4 and as time goes on fewer different kits should be required.

No I did not get it wrong. I was the one who highlighted the “Interior Noise Kit”. This kit is designed to sort out all those squeaks and rattles from panels within the car. Please check my discussions in mid Sep entitled “Squeak from Dashboard” page 3. Toyota call this box kit the “Interior Noise Kit”, code No. 08231-00801

I had my Avensis modifed with the "road noise" soundproofing kit and belive me, it will not fit in a smallish box called “Interior Noise Kit”.

It involves taking out all seats, ripping out all carpets as well as linings etc. and then putting in about 15 Kg (two layers) of heavy sound proofing mats on all the floor panels and on rear wheelhouses. After remounting carpets, seats etc. the two main bushings in the rear suspension was changed to softer type.

All this took my Toyota Garage about 9 hours to do.

A slight improvement but I guess I expected more :(

I got it at my dealer. I gave the part number (mentioned above) and they have ordered it from Japan. Waited one week. I paid for it, it didn't worth headake and discussions with dealer.

Do you recall did anything go over the front wheel houses, engiene bay, firewall, under dash or in front doors etc?
