What Other Seats Fit In Ae111.

Hi all,

My driver's seat is gonna give up the ghost soon, 8yrs of getting out on the passenger side has taken it's toll.

Gonna have sort something over winter, I'm currently looking for a smashed G6 for the interior but it's proving a little difficult at the moment.

I just wanted to know what other seats might fit.

I liked the look of AE111SR's I think J said they were from a Levin, but they look similar to the MR2's which confused me.

Any info whatsoever would be appreciated.

Rich K

John got the seats from another corolla I think and then got the mounts form his original ones and got them welded on.

I have a set of scooby wrx seats I am going to fit at some point, but ther are still in the garage :lol: And I will have to use the ae111 mounts also

Oh I see, use the original mounts, it seems so obvious now you said that.

Subaru hmmm.....

My mates smashed Subaru has a red & black interior, and I remember Fensport AE111 Silver SR had Scooby seats in too.

Thanks Knowlson.

Richard - you're right - they did come from an MR2 - Jerry has exactly the same seats in his car. The original seats were removed and the ends that are bolted to the floor were removed with a grinder then these were welded onto the MR2 seats. Tools required were socket to remove bolts, grinder, welder, clamps, paint brush!!!!

Here's the quote from my website

"He removed the original seats and cut off the fixings used to fit them to the body then fitted these to the MR2 seats. Doesn't take long to say/read but took lots of to-ing and fro-ing to get them fitted correctly. But fit they do and the fabric and plastic materials have that "Toyota" look so that even though the coloured fabric isn't the same, the seats don't look out of place. At some time in the future I'll take the old seats to the upholsterer and see if he can use the original coloured panels when I get the MR2 seats re-covered."

Seats should be going to the upholsterer middle of next month.
