Hello all, my 1st post I recently bought an Aygo 3dr Sport in Quartz Grey and am loving it – my first tank of fuel did 410 miles!

Everything is great but I have noticed just a few niggly points –

The CD player skips when going over sharp bumps

The seats do not go back to the original setting when letting someone in the back (apparently this is common in all Toyotas)

Funny smell from the heater

If anyone has a quick fix for these please let me know!

Cheers

:)

Are you letting people in on the drivers side or passenger side?

Reason I ask is with my 2004 Yaris, the passenger seat has "memory" but the drivers seat doesnt, so the passenger seat goes back but the drivers seat wont, so I only use passenger side to let people in the back!

As for the CD - maybe try going slower over the bumps? If that doesnt work then just take it back to Toyota.....

Thats what the warranty is there for remember!

Excellent choice though - Carbon Quartz is my favourite Aygo colour!

the driver seat not doing back to position is, as far as i know, from 2001 yari, only cos i havent tried it on cars older than that but i assume its all yari 3dr's. and yes it is a tad annoying

Cheers chaps

Yes it is for both seats not returning to the original position.

I normally dont have to use it but it is a bit annoying sometimes. My mum has a 2001 Yaris and that does the same.

Surely there can be a way of tending to it? If the back rest just flipped backwards instead of the whole seat moving that would be ideal. My last 2 cars did the smae thing

SOD,

How about when you take the car out for the first time at night (which you never do on a test drive from a dealer) and someone needs to get in the back from the passenger side?

Voila!

No interior light when you open the passenger door....... so you have to open the driver's door too in order to get the interior light on........ in a car that cost 8,000 quid!?

That is cheapo, in the extreme.

Buzz.

Yeah def no memory on the seats. Passenger light is also a bit annoying but I think the positives far outweigh the bad points.

The CD player skips when going over sharp bumps

I think that's to do with it being a CD player, as far as I'm aware if you give any CD player a big enough jolt it will skip.

Funny smell from the heater

That might be due to the fact that it's new & hasn't been used before, sometimes if you use a heater for the 1st time in a while it smells, I'd give it a bit of time & see if it stops, if not I'd take it back to Mr T.

ok,

The CD player is ok now, think there might have been some dust on the cd which caused the skipping.

Yep, no passenger entry light which is annoying, but as mentioned there a way more positives than negatives. I bought it primarily for fuel consumption usage which cannot be bettered by any car apart from the Honda Insight which is a rip-off anyway. :)

I glanced at a thread the other day about a Yaris gearknob being fitted to the Aygo but cant seem to find it again. Is it a simple change? might consider getting one

Yeah I find that if a cd is badly scratched/dusted then sometimes it'll skip really badly in my Yaris player..

If anything isnt right then go back to MrT, you paid enough for the car after all!

It's the Corolla leather gear knob you want for the Aygo - unless it's the same as Yaris ?

I got mine for £18 from Mr T.

i think the only thing that calnt be solved which is a slight problem is the light when a dorr is open, i dont get why they didnt do that, its not like its a maintenance product or would require massive amounts of work. the seat memory solved by a 5dr so not soo bad
