Hi guys, im still battling to get my cynos on the road at the moment. Ive just had a holiday so money is tight. Still not fitted my stereo yet but have ordered my wiring harness with help from a guy on here cheers.

Finding it hard to fit the fan belt too! Also can anybody help me with the batterey. My cynos has no holder to hold the Battery in place, and will need something to hold it to pass MOT. Im expecting I need new break pads too.

Also this sva test will my car need one? I presume it wont as its over 10yrs old. Does ths mean I can keep my car gages as kph??

Also insurance does anybodyt have any ideas what companies actually have these cars in there list!

Im trying to get pics up too

cheers all

damn danny - i thought you'd dissapeared mate lol

you wont need an SVA from memory yours is a 93 right?

i've been driving my cynos for nearly 5 years now & my guages are still in KMH so don't worry about it.

might have fun with the Battery holder - i think the toughest part will be to find the clamps that will fit to the chassis & hold the unit in place. i'll see what i can find for you.

as for insurance - try Tesco's, mines insured under a Uk spec paseo on the chassis number - had no troubles what so ever but i believe the've updated the database to include the EL44. other than that try Adrian Flux mate

i'll grab the part numbers for the pads later mate  from memory 20 quid from Express Factors.

Nope mate needed a holiday & I cant let you be the only guy to have a cynos!

Its strange I rang tesco and a guy I spoke to said it would come under the same group as a carina 1.6.

Its my first car so I have no claims etc. Should I say ive spoke to people about this on this site and explain it should be under a uk spec model. I think its a1992 model I have,im not sure to be honest I no its a 1st gen, but my reg is CKZ 6962.

When I ring im sure they dont have a idea what it should come under as. Can you explain to me what exactly urs is under........

thats good then with the sva, i may just make something to hold it in place id everythin fails.

A really big help would alsobe knowing what colour wire is what for my stereo I dont want to risk blowing my new jvc exad up. Ive just got a load of wires red yellow white etc. Cann you help?
