Hello

Any ideas why I cant get a reasonable quote for my car insurance.

Im 29. 10 years NCD, 1 non fault claim in past 3 years, Only modifcation is alloys wheels.

1996 NA SZ Supra Auto. No penalties or convictions. Dont mind paying high excess:

Quotes so far:

A.Flux £808

Sky: £701 (if i get a cat1 alarm fitted)

Tesco: £880

Elephant: £855

I have read about classic car insurance but am wary as its my main car!

Any thoughts????

Cheers

Cat 1, Wheel clamps, Cameras, Shutters, Dead bolts, Armer plated front gates, Lazer beamz, Strobes and invisability.

No seriously dude, it could be just as simple as your post code"serious".

My Celi gt4 resides in a different posty but stays here, i got 250 knocked off.

They must breed car sharks up bolton.

Catzilla.

If it saves me money I would chain my wife to my supra!

They guy said i was in a low risk area. He also said the vehicle value made little difference (I never know how to answer that!!).

Im pretty happy with 550. I just need a letter from Toyots stating that the Supra SZ has a cat1 immob.

Wish me luck, prob charge me for it!!! :censor:

If it has a cat 1 alarm then any alarm place could do you a proof certificate.

A Toyota Main Dealer won't have anything to do with imports, most of the time they will refuse to look at an import supra.

Import supras dont come with any security as standard except for locks on the doors  Your better off just paying £100 to have an alarm place fit one.

£550 sounds like a good quote

Before i forget, Lancaster didn't care if i had an alarm or not. Didnt make my policy any cheaper to have one so i didnt bother fitting one

All those quotes are rubbish.

Give FIREBOND a call on 0870 444 0556.

I am sure it will be about £350 fully comp with 5,000 mile/year and £200 excess.

If it is any more I'll eat my backside with some pepper sauce.

My MK111 is £250/year fully comp with £100 excess. SO THERE.

Respect

Michael
