Heated Leather Seats

I have leather seats in my Gen 5 and I have noticed that there are wires going to inside the seats.. so I'm presuming I should have heated seats.. if so how do you turn them on, or should they come on automaticaly for a while with the ignition?

I am only guessing but i think you will find they are just pressure sensors for your seats,when someone is sat in one, the passenger for instance the seat belt warning light will be on.
