Rav4 Recall In New Zealand

It says New Zealand but as all RAV4 vehicles are made in the same factory in Japan, I thought it would be useful for owners to know, here are the details;

Toyota Corolla, RAV4 and Echo

The problem

Due to a design problem the contact points for the head-lamp dimmer switch may become contaminated, which affects the electrical conductivity. That can cause the headlamps to flicker and possibly stop working completely.

Details

•Toyota Corolla, RAV4 and Echo models produced between May 2000 and September 2002.

•Other models of used-imports, such as the Vitz, may also be affected.

What to do

Once replacement parts are available, Toyota NZ will be contacting owners of affected models directly, to arrange for remedial work to be carried out.
