Towbar Chassis Bolts

HI All,

I went to fit my new Towbar to my 01 plate Avensis Estate this morning, and to my horror, found out that the 4 original chassis bolts which are required to mount the drop plates on, are not there.

On a car without a towbar these bolts simply hold two empty brackets, but the brakets are totally removed when installing a towbar.

When I bought my car - there was no tbar on it, but I have subequently found out that there has been one previously. Only, the muppet who removed it for the garage, has taken off with my chassis bolts.

Toyota - in their infinite wisdom wil not sell you the required bolts as they are a part of their own Towbar kit (c. £100 more than I paid for mine) so will only offer to sell me a complete kit.

All I need is 4 Bolts !

Can anyone help ?

They are 4 of M14 x 1.5 x 50mm Hi Tensile Steel bolts (8.8 strength)

I have tried every fixings supplier in my area, and a few of the internet.

I have just finished ringing every scrapyard in town ( and the surrounding area) and I have had no luck.

Any bright ideas out there ?

THanks.

- Cale
