More Audio Input

Hi

The fog may be clearing! I have been advised that there is an input socket (3.5mm phono) at the rear of the Yaris radio/cassette which is an audio input. (advised by 'connects 2' distributor on web)

Is this the case?

If so...can one input an audio signal at this point...?

If so ...can one input an audio output from any mp3 player?

If so ...one does not need any further apparatus..assuming that you can switch to an aux input there is no need for an FM transmitter or a cassette adaptor.

Am I on the right track?

Ummm... I don't know, sorry but I do know that when Mr T arranged for the MD changer to be installed in my car before delivery the guy used a Connects 2 box to control it. To feed the audioninto the box you need the "left and right" style phono jacks.

I've posted pics before in this thread (clicky)

Hope that helps,

Alan

Hi Alan

Thanks for the info. I only want to feed in audio from an mp3 player.

I haven't viewed the rear of the radio/cassette yet. I understand that there are two sockets. (red and white??)..It may be that they are simple audio input sockets...If so I might be able to feed into these directly wthout the need of any adapter box.

Many thanks

Hi,

Sorry, I think that connects2 guy was lying! There is no input of that sort on the back of the yaris stereo....hence why their company make an adaptor

I'm using one an can confirm its definitely worth the money! The quality is awesome and its an easy job to put in! (around 10mins!)

Bought mine from here

You wont be disappointed!

Hi Matt

Thanks for the info...I'm going to follow your lead. I had assumed that you had to take out radio /cassette..If it's, as you say, a 10 minute job, I'll definetly go for it.

Could you give me a couple of basic pointers about installation? (not great detail)

Many thanks again

Hi,

Just follow this great guide made by Moffmo on how to get to the stereo.

-Just pull the unit out slightly (dont have to remove it totally)

-Disconnect the cd changer plug

-Plug the connects 2 adaptor into the cd changer hole

-Then plug the cd changer plug into the connects 2 adaptor

-Place the connects2 box somewhere where its easily accessible (I chose to stick it in a gap on the passenger side)

-Put everything back together!

Hope this helps ;)

Matt
