As i was driving back home during a driving lesson (BTW only one more to go) we were talking about Yari (she has a P2 D4D) and she started talking abouta fault with the diesel that has happened to her husband's and collegue's identical D4Ds - from what i can remember its a fault with the air meter and the first signs are a lumpy idle when starting from cold and lasts for a couple of minutes whilst driving - if you catch it whilst still under warrenty Mr T will fix it but if you get it after (as in the case of my instructor) its a £400 jobby

Dunno if this is old news, but i figured i'd give you oil burners the heads up

The petrol lumpyness is usually after a drive - this is before

Its probably not gonna be a problem for most people - my instructor's car for example is only 2 years old yet has well over 70k on it :S

Would this be just the Yaris D-4D or all D-4D's?

Not noticed any problems with the Corolla - and thats done 80k and its almost three years old.

sounds like faulty MAF sensors, or just dirty ones?

400quid though on a 2 year car, should be warranty thing
